Fabric...lovely, lovely fabric

I finally found a really nice sturdy solid colored fabric to work as a good contrast to the print fabric a purchased months ago at Ikea. Now I just have to choose from the handbag sketches that I've drawn. Decisions, decisions, decisions. To sew or not to sew... SEW HAPPY.

handbag sketches...which one to create?

Just a few sketches from my inspiration journal. Now to choose one to actually sew. Got to make a simple pattern and then put the scissors to the fabric. I've got the fabric just waiting to become something.

Today's ATCs

creative happy day

Today was just about perfect. I spent the day just being creative. I started crocheting some little frilly flowers and lace trims to add to scrapbook pages. Can't wait to get started on some pages of pictures of my girls when they were little. Although, I have to scan them into my computer before I can scrapbook them...very time consuming and not much fun. I made some more ATCs using acrylic paper, tissue papers, rubber stamps, catalog clipping and decoupage. With the left over sheet of decoupage I made some INCHIES. And just for fun I took some pictures of my creative workspace. It's very cluttered so I have to tidy it up before I can start any projects. It's not a very large space, but I love it and it's mine. My cats love it too, they think it's place they can go exploring...I'm often shushing them off. I also did a little sketching in my inspiration journal - some handbags I'm thinking of sewing. All in all a very creative day. Oh, and I did 2 loads of laundry :D

The Boys of Summer

Hot off my craft table

Well it's been awhile since I posted some ATCs. I've been focusing on scrap booking and have been really enjoying putting together some page of my trip to Vegas and California. So today I pulled out some watercolor paper, rubber stamps, pencils, bic markers, stickers and scrapbook paper and just got busy. I find that I'm drawn to drawing flowers and the word Bloom. I guess it's because I feel a blooming in my own life. And well, I like flowers...and tree branches. I've been reading Tolle's "A new Earth" and I love the chapter in the beginning where he writes about flowers and how as the consciousness of human beings developed, flowers were things that became of value and had no utilitarian purpose. Flowers provided inspiration. Flowers awoke something in countless artists, poets and mystics. So, I like to think of myself as an 'artistic mystic'. Funny, uh.

I started to keep a journal for recording thoughts and quotes as I'm reading A New Earth. What can I say, Tolle is an inspiration. This Journal of mine will probably go through a lot of changes, since I'm always doodling in it. Oh yeah, did I mention that I love to doodle? I wonder how many people have doodled in their copy of A New Earth?
