Artist Trading Cards..."Fish" a series of 3

I created these Fish ATCs for a private trade.  When I got this challenge I looked through my collection of vellum images and was happy to find these tiny tropical fish.  I layered the fish onto white cardstock so the colors would really stand out.  Then I tried my hand at watercolor for the backgounds of card no. 2 and 3.  Then, because I love to add demension to my ATCs, I layered them with vellum coral images.  I think my favorite one is card no. 3.  I gave it a coat of crackle paint and rubbed on some Staz on ink.  I love doing these ATC challenges.  They keep me active in my artsy endeavors.  The best part of this hobby are the ATCs I get in the mail.

Sending You Happy Birthday Wishes...handmade greeting card

This image is one of my favorites. I enjoy using these three ladies in my ATC art.

{Love You}...Greeting Card

I've been making little crochet flowers and attaching them to my paper crafts.  Making these little cuties is one of my favorite things to do while I'm waiting to start my shift at work or just while watching TV.  Staying creative is very important to me, so I try to make it simple and easy.
I've added cute little brads to the centers of my little crochet flowers.

Themed Challenge...3 Favorite Quotes

I really enjoyed this challenge and can see myself using more favorite quotes with my ATCs.

YO-YOs...Pillow cover in progress

I'm currently working on a sewing project that involves little fabric rounds called YO-YOs.  The fabric I'm using is a valance I bought on clearance that matches the curtains in my craft room.  It's going to be a pillow cover.

Circles in Circles...8x10 Collage

There is an awesome collage on the Framed Art aisle at Target, the subject is circles layered on squares.  So that collage inspired me to try to create one of my own.
At first I wasn't real happy with the finished product, so I revisited it with a little more inspiration..
I covered the stamped areas with more of the circle punches and rubbed on some more ink.
When the Mod Podge dried, I stamped circle images on the paper punches.
Now I have this really neat collage that I can print out on card stock and use for ATC backgrounds or use for the art journal I have to start.
atc...encourage imagination
I used a copy of a old photo that I bought from an antique shop and layered it on top of my collage print.

Thank You Cards...for the guys

I recently discovered Craft Paper Card Stock, and I just love it.  I made these two Thank You cards using this awesome foundation.  I added some left over Tim Holtz paper, buttons, ephemera and some stamping.  Creating greating cards is a good way to use up some of those paper scraps.

Theme Challenge...Owls

Owls, owls, owls...I just can't get enough.  These are another set of themed trading cards I created for a private trade.  My latest obbsesion is to add flowers and buttons to all my paper crafts.  I bought a jar with an assortment of old buttons from an antique shop in Mesa, Arizona and just love playing with them.  I sorted them out by shades of colors and now have displayed on my bookshelf.  The jar the buttons came  in was quickly put to use.  Now it's used to store some of my paper flowers.

Blue Themed Challenge

These three ATCs I made for a private trade.  The theme was "Blue".  The Blue Fish is one of my favorites.  I've used this image before, but added some sparkle to this one. I also layered it on a black card stock cut copy to give it more dimension.

Made for You

I love using bits and pieces of my scrapbook paper stash to create greeting cards.  I have to really control myself when it comes to adding embelishments...too much and the card won't fit in the envelope

Dream...8x10 Collage

I created this 8x10 collage for my friend Jenn.  I used an art canvas board, scrap book paper, a magazine image, clear stamps, a fancy chip board piece and ephemera.  I used a mat finish clear contact sheet to make the image transfer.  It works just like using clear packing tape, but I think the paper backing of the image rubs off alot easier that it does the packing tape.

It's been awhile...

It's been awhile since I last posted anything.  Although I have been crafting, I just haven't really taken time to post the photos and document my finished projects.  I confess...I'm a slacker...a big time slacker.

I've been actively creating ATCs, greeting cards, 8x10 collages, scrapbook pages, crocheting, and a little sewing in between.  I've also been organizing and decorating my craft room.  I love my little crafting nest.  I've been trying to make it as girly as possible.  I think it needs more flowers,  artifical silk flowers, because I don't have a green thumb like my mom.  My mom can put a stick in the ground and for sure something will grow from it.  I went to visit her this past weekend and well, her roses are gorgeous.

Let the posting begin....
